2 Praying for Inner Strength
Ephesians 3:14-21

3 Emphasis Ephesians 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man

4 Every Christian has an inner man
Our inner person is our spiritual part Our inner person is much more important than our outward person Inner man is eternal

5 Every Christian has an inner man
The strength of the inner man determines our success against temptation One stands, the other falls Why?

6 Our inner man needs to be “strengthened with might”
The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

7 Our inner man needs to be “strengthened with might”
I desire that ye faint not Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you…

8 Our inner man needs to be “strengthened with might”
A change in spiritual strength is more needful than a change in circumstances There is only one way to get rid of anxiety PRAYER

9 Our inner man needs to be “strengthened with might”
If your heart and mind are filled with discouragement or anxiety, you will never be victorious when temptations and troubles come.

10 God will “grant” us inner strength if we ask Him for it
If you want to avoid fainting, if you want to avoid being discouraged, pray. Ask God for inner strength. He wants to give it to us.

11 God will give us inner strength “according to the riches of His glory”
His riches are limitless His grace and mercy are inexhaustible and more than sufficient to supply ALL our needs.

12 God will give us inner strength “by His Spirit”
There are abundant scriptures I can read indicating God’s care, God’s love—examples of how He cared for others with total confidence He will care for me “Yes, for me, for me He careth with loving tender care”

13 So, what have we said this evening?
Paul prayed that God would grant them strength in the inner man. We have an inner man—our heart, our soul, our mind. And the inner man is much more important than the outward or physical man.

14 So, what have we said this evening?
Our outward man is perishing, but the inner man is being renewed each day. We must ‘faint not.’ We must not be discouraged. We need to pray for more than just getting better, we need to pray for strength for the inner man.

15 So, what have we said this evening?
God will give us strength according to the abundance of His riches. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we may ask or think. God’s blessings are endless. Do we really believe this?

16 So, what have we said this evening?
There is strength to be gained through His word as revealed by His Holy Spirit. It is up to us to reach for that strength. As we so often say, all this comes to us by study and prayer.
