Media Activation Group Principals Doug McGary has over 20 years of experience in the broadcast and telecommunications industries. Doug founded Accelerated Media in 2007. Doug was the president of Turner Media Group in 2004 and lead the technologies division. Prior to TMG, Doug was the Director of Interactive Services at EchoStar where he led the development of interactive services and interactive television products on DISH Network. He led the development of interactive platforms at EchoStar, the DISH Player (in conjunction with WebTV) and DISH Interactive in conjunction with OpenTV and Wink. He has many years of experience in imagery and video compression and transmission technologies with Harris Communications, Kodak, Texas Instruments and Lockheed Martin. Doug has been active in development of new digital television technologies and working with broadcast data standards such as ATVEF, ATSC and MPEG. He holds patents in video compression technology and BSEE, MSEE degrees.
Media Activation Group Principals Lesa Bannon has over 15 years of advertising, branding and video production/distribution experience. Lesa joined Accelerated Media in 2008, and is responsible for the interactive and VOD group, planning, executing and managing multiple interactive ad and brand campaigns. Lesa is active in emerging technologies, and assists with application development and deployment of TV widgets, and has worked as a consultant on the Canoe platform. Prior to Accelerated Media, Lesa was VP of Brand Management and Marketing in the construction and commercial real estate industries. John Wettersten has over 25 years of television advertising sales and management experience including local, regional, and national. He has held multiple sales roles including Midwest and West Coast sales. Most recently John managed the Midwest region selling the iTV Dish Network platform and was with NCC and their Advanced Advertising Group selling iTV, VOD, and digital platforms, including internet and mobile solutions. John also has worked in attitudinal research and started his career with Quaker Oats.
The future of interactive TV is NOW! A mid-October forecast from Dallas-based market-researcher Parks Associates predicted U.S revenue from so-called "advanced TV advertising," which can include anything from ads within video-on- demand, to commercials inserted into digital-video recorder interactions, to ads that viewers respond to using their remote control, should reach $130 million by the end of 2010. By 2014, Parks said, U.S revenue from such methods will exceed $4 billion, accounting for nearly 12% of total cable, satellite and telecommunications-provider TV-ad revenue.
