1 Making energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive, and green

2 EcoStruxure is the right ecosystem to support the convergence of 5 key domains
Process & Machine Management Building Management Security Management Power Data Centre The EcoStruxure Promise: Guaranteed compatibility / synergy / capability between the 5 domains of expertise Enhanced customer experience up to 30% saving in Capex and Opex Enabled by the right connecting technologies : Ethernet/IP as a common highway Web services as a common language (SOA architectures) Helping our customers solve their Energy Equation Making the energy Safe, Reliable, Productive and Green

3 System to System interoperability
Solution offer vision Today, with device level integration, we are bringing all building systems together within the BMS. This provides data intergation. In the future, Schneider Management systems for the other business domains will converge with Struxureware. This will provide true system to system interoperability bringing more than just data from the other systems. EcoStruxure will provide real information including alarm enunciation between platforms Today Modbus integration with existing platforms SmartStruxure 1.0 Native Modbus with power Objects Future System to System Interoperability via web services System to System interoperability ISX Central ION Enterprise SmartStruxure BMS Multiple silo systems Integrated Solution

4 EcoStruxure platform convergence
SmartStruxure Solution ION Enterprise ISX Central With Buildings Business customers, it is likely that ISX Central and/or Ion Enterprise will also be installed on the Customer’s network. This is very likely with any customer that has a data center or distributed Data Closets Pharma, Hospitals and Universities are the most likely, could also include retail (malls) or large commercial office System to system interoperability via Web Services

5 ISX Central SmartStruxure ION Enterprise Solution
What would this look like to the user? ISX Central SmartStruxure ION Enterprise Solution There are primary users of each of these systems. These users typically spend 90% of their time on the primary system but need information from the other systems for optimal performance. EcoStruxure will allow that user to retrieve information from the other system without leaving SmartStruxure – they will not have to log onto the other systems – SmartStruxure will offer a “window” into that system. Note: ION Enterprise rarely has a user logged on. EcoStruxure will allow ION E alarms to be presented in SmartStruxure. EcoStruxure expands the feature set of SmartStruxure to include functions from other domains Provides a window into the other Management Systems EcoStruxure integration solutions are proven, tested, documented and supported.

6 Integrated solutions in a building
Make energy visible Ensure systems work together Integration Safe Protect people and assets Transform and distribute power safely Reliable Prevent power outage Prevent quality variance Efficient / Productive Measure and control energy Provide relevant diagnosis Manage processes Ensure utilities are efficient Green Make the connection of renewable energy sources easy, reliable and cost effective This image represents an example of all of the ways that Schneider Electric can integrate its 5 key domains into buildings. We can implement them all or any combination that works for the customer. Alliance members will fill the gaps in our SE offering so we can deliver a complete solution Safe Energy in general, and electrical energy in particular, can be dangerous. We make it safe, in order to protect people and assets. SE provides circuit breakers, surge protectors, wiring devices, and other systems designed to ensure your safety. Reliable An unreliable energy supply can cause huge losses. Depending on the industry, the cost of 1 hour downtime can reach $10 million. The power gird is not always reliable, whether in terms of continuity or of quality. In the digital world of today, a “pure energy” supply without variations in intensity or cuts is a must. Efficient and productive Few people realise that a mere click on a computer mouse consumes a considerable amount of energy. Consider this: one day’s worth of Google searches generates the same amount of CO2 emissions as 200 return flights between Paris and New York. Note for the speaker 1 Google search = 1g of CO2 (between 0. 2 & 7g depending on the sources) 1 NYC-Paris return flight = 1T of CO2 200 millions Google searches every day Because energy is the source of all activity, we help our customers to manage it so as to boost their productivity. How? By developing automation and connectivity to make life easier for them. Our lifecycle services bring further peace of mind to our customers throughout the entire lifespan of their installations. Energy efficiency can give a remarkable boost to your finances by enabling you… -…to save on your energy bills, and… -…to optimise total cost of ownership of real estate or production facilities. This applies to individuals, and even more so to factory or business owners. The rising price of energy as well as growing environmental concerns mean that energy efficiency is not only the right way; it is the only way. Green Green energy is both a need and an opportunity The share of renewable in the world’s energy mix could double over the next 20 years ( according to both IEA and the US Department of Energy) SE will be part of this green transition, by providing easy ways to install and connect renewable energy sources. In renewable energy, SE provides connection systems and products like inverters, etc. EcoStruxure: Simple software integration The biggest source of efficiency is integration. Simply connecting the different spaces of the building (Facility management system, security system, IT system, power monitoring system) through software systems can yield great benefits. It enables you to: Achieve more while using less Making instant documented decisions based on accurate data (consolidation is key to reduce waste and optimize the whole) Save time and energy through remote monitoring. EcoStruxure is a framework for creating simple Intelligent Energy management systems that save money and, more importantly, reduce waste. This agile, “architectural” approach makes optimised systems accessible to a wider audience thanks to its compatible product designs and open-platform software. It provides end-users with the tools they need to reduce their time to design and integrate, as well as their capex and opex. As consumers, businesses, and entire economies become increasingly reliant on technology, devices must become more intuitive, efficient, and intelligent. With EcoStruxure, Schneider Electric is helping energy to evolve in the same direction.

22 Software Suites - Future plans
In the future multiple applications will be combined to create suites of software that are targeted at vertical markets. Vertical markets are the ones that Building currently focus on - Healthcare, Retail, Education… Customers can purchase the suites or the individual applications Example – you can buy Microsoft Office or just Microsoft Excel These suites will be predefined, pre-tested and documented for interoperability and functionality. They will come from corporate – not from the regions/countries The timeframe for delivery of the first suites is probably 9-18 months. StruxureWare for Buildings software suite will not be pursued. It is too broad – it is replaced by the vertical markets will be addressed.
