Stem-changing verbs give their stems the boot!
Verb endings e i boot verbs can ONLY be –ir -o -imos -es -ís -e -en
pedir pidpidpedped pidpidpedped pidpidpidpid o imos e es en ís
Now lets change the stems. Remember, -e can change to -i only within the boot. This means the nosotros & vosotros forms never change!
servir sirvserv sirvserv sirv o imos e es en ís
despedir vestir pedir reír de competir medir to say goodbye to to dress to request, order (food), ask for to laugh at to compete to measure
( son)reír ALWAYS has acent mark on the -i ríre-ímos ríre-ís rí
reír r__rere r_rere o es e ímos en í í í í ís
