3 SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME Design and study of a new hollow superconducting cable based on multifilament key-stoned SC wires. Design and construction of a model dipole magnet for SIS100 (B=2 T, dB/dt =4 T/s, f =1 Hz) with a single-layer SC coil, cooled with forced two-phase helium flow. Fabrication and test of the new hollow superconducting cable aimed at operating current of kA at B=4-6 T. 4 Main results in 2004: The new cable and single-layer dipole coil were produced and tested at LHE. The cable operating current of 13 kA at B=2.2 T, dB/dt=4 T/s and f=1 Hz was obtained. The wires fix themselves (arc principle) and form a cooling channel with small hydraulic resistance.
