2 Introduction: Introduction: There has been a great deal of attention paid towards the mixology session of the bar over passed few years, Stemming primarily from the invention of cocktails and mocktails which contributes considerably to the hotel industry. About the Event: Fusion is all about the mixing sense of the mixologist who wants to be different and better than others. The event will provide an important forum for interaction of ideas between the students and industrialists. Judges will be experts from industry and there will be media coverage.

7 Rules & Regulations Inter college Cocktail-Mocktail competition is opened only for students of T.Y and S.Y of Hotel Management Colleges. The competition will be monitored and judged by experts from hospitality industry. Cocktails and mocktail making competition will be held on alternate days and participant is allowed to participate in only one competition. Each participant shall submit one innovative recipe with official entry form supplied by the Organizing Committee on or before the designated date. Last date for sending entries is 20 th Dec 2008; last minute entry will not be entertained. All the participants will be given certificate of participation.

8 Winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd) will be awarded with trophy and certificate. Trophy and certificate for distinctive recipients. Institute/participant has to pay Rs. 100/- per entry as registration fees for the competition. Participant must attach recent photo and a photo copy of the college ID to his/her form. College is requested to send maximum 10 students – 05 for cocktail & 05 for mocktail competition. Participants are requested to report 1 hour prior to the competition. (around 9:00 am) Ingredients, materials, equipments will be provided by organizing committee. Participants Uniform – Black Trousers, Black Shirt/T-shirt (plain).

9 DETAILS OF INGREDIENTS PROVIDED TO PARTICIPANTS : 1) Liquors: Vodka Gin Whisky White rum & Dark rum Tequila Brandy White wine & Red wine 2) Liqueurs: Blue Curacao Kahlua Cherry Base Vermouth Sambuca Baileys Triple Sec 3) Crushes 4) Syrups 5) Juices 6) Sauce – Tabasco, Worcestershire 7) Soft Drinks 8) Garnishes.

10 1ST ROUND (Innovation in Classic Recipe) First round is the elimination round. Recipe must be submitted with the form. Recipe shall be expressed in milliliters (ml). Recipe must not be repeated within the same college students. Ingredients will be provided as per the recipe submitted. Viva based on the made cocktail/mocktail would be asked by judges.

11 2ND ROUND (Basket Menu) 1. Each competitor shall be given basket of ingredients. 2. Drink should be made only from the given ingredients. 3. Drink rules: The drink should be composed of 8 (Eight) ingredients maximum (drops included) from the basket. Total volume: from 3 to 5 ounces. (short- medium-long) the Competition Committee will decide the range of the glasses to be used Hot drinks are not allowed. 4. Glassware will be provided by the Organizing Committee. 5.Ingredients may be measured using measuring JIGGERS. 6.All drinks may be: Hand Stirred, Hand Shaken, Built or Blended in an electric mixer. 7.Competitor is allowed to use his or her own bar utensils to prepare the drink (only on their own risk).
