+ Iconic Logos For thousands of years, humans have utilized symbology and iconography to communicate with one another. From childhood, we learn to associate symbols and icons with specific feelings or ideas. This is the same with branding, as logos come to embody the brands personality in the mind of the consumer. Brands take tremendous effort in creating emotional connections with the consumer, and logos are just one of the many ways they can communicate who they are. Some logos are so prevalent in society that they are instantly recognizble.
+ Tips A logo is not just a mark – a logo reflects a businesss commercial brand via the use of shape, fonts, colour, and / or images. A logo is for inspiring trust, recognition and admiration for a company or product and it is our job as designers to create a logo that will do its job.
+ Tips First come up with the name, and then design the logo Look at the logos of other businesses in the industry and think about how you want to differentiate your logo from those of your competition Research!! Focus on your message Make it clean and functional. Your logo should work as well on a business card as on the side of a truck. A good logo should be scalable, easy to reproduce, memorable and distinctive. Use your logo to illustrate your business's key benefits Don't use clip art – its too easy to copy! Be creative.
