Directions What you need today: Notebook for questions Printed copy of slides 6-11 Computer with Internet Access Text Book (pages 48-51) Pencil and/or Pen What you should do during class today: Go to my website calendar for today. Open the Crime Scene Preservation and the Crime Scene Overview Sketch Notes You will find the questions starting on the third slide. Questions (1-8) are on the PPT refer to the text (pages 48-51). Questions (9-13) refer to the Crime Scene preservation PDF . You should obtain a printed copy of slides 6-10 so you can take notes on the different sketching methods . Finally, watch the video and come up with a list of steps.

Define Finished Sketch What makes a rough sketch different from a finished sketch? What information must be included in any notes taken at the crime scene? What is the benefit to using a tape recorder and/or a video recorder? What are the caveats?

Summarize the different ways that sketches support the crime scene investigation and complement the crime scene photographs. What is the purpose of crime scene sketch? What steps would a sketch preparer take at the crime scene? How does a sketch prepare determine the scale for the sketch? What would the sketch prepare include on their rough sketch?

Get a handout from the teacher that has all the different sketches. Take notes (on the handout about each sketch) using the PDF as a guide. Things you should look for in your notetaking.For each type diagram, complete the following: The Definition of each diagram. When you would use each diagram How you would set up to sketch each diagram.
