2 My goals as a grassroots football coach, girls 13-16: 1.Develop football skills 2.Postpone finishing football 3.Contribute on developing self-confidence, resposibility, attitude

3 Agenda March 31th, 2011: Examples of some activities in Asker, girls age 13-15: Organizing winter tournament Organizing football school Organizing referee education Organizing social arrangement Co-operation between clubs

4 Vinterligaen: The Winter League Need of matches during winter to keep the girls interest One match pr month Jan-March: artificial grass Age group: Girls 13 – 15 years: most likely age for finishing football The local clubs give the time on the fields -10 degrees C no problem 8 teams pr age group: appropriate to geographically and sporting level Organizing winter tournament Organizing football school Organizing referee education Organizing social arrangement Co-operation between clubs

5 Vinterligaen: The Winter League Especially of sporting value for girls 13-teams Football fields occupied all week: NOT in weekends Lowers the barrier for girls joining the team again in spring All contact towards clubs on team-level (no boardmembers) Organizing winter tournament Organizing football school Organizing referee education Organizing social arrangement Co-operation between clubs

6 Frisk Asker Football school 12-year-olds instructors for 8- and 9 year old participants Local arrangement: instructors and participants from the same or neighbouring club Small arrangement: 3 hours on Saturday, 40 kids and 12 instructors Main goal: development of responsibility and self-conficence of the instructors Instructors practising exercises and coaching- tecniques 2-3 times in advance Borrowing equipment from the club Organizing winter tournament Organizing football school Organizing referee education Organizing social arrangement Co-operation between clubs

7 Freedom to the instructors: dynamically change of exercises (big difference in groups: 8 yrs girls vs 9 yrs boys..) 8 Frisk Asker referee-project 1-evening referee course, 14-year-olds First match with observer and feedback Referee all the clubs 9-12 yrs matches, 5x5 and 7x7 Refs paid on their next training Organizing winter tournament Organizing football school Organizing referee education Organizing social arrangement Co-operation between clubs
