Creating a Distribution List using Outlook 2007 Similar to each schools list-serve except that YOU are in control.
Comments? Why? - To send a message to more than one person more than once. Examples? – Grade Levels, Departments, Tracks, (friends, family)… Why Office 2007? We will all be there soon enough. Office 2003 would be extremely similar. The main difference would be the upcoming pictures. There are some more advanced things in here marked with an *.
Click on the triangle (2) arrow (called a carrot) next to New and choose (3) Distribution List On the left side of Outlook click on (1) Contacts
(4) Give it a Name (Im just going to call mine Practice) and then (5) Click on members
(6) It should default to the Global Address list. (7) Type in someones LAST name. (8) Click Members. (9) Repeat 7 and 8 until you get all your members. (10) Click OK
11 After you have all your members click on (11) Save and Close. Congratulations – You made a list.
Sending a Message 12 To send a message to your distribution list click on New Message To address it (12) Click on to
14 13 Click on the carrot and (13) Choose Contacts. (14) Type in the name of your list and click on it. (15) Click on To->. (16) Click on OK
Success! Congratulations. Type your message and send it
