Community Service Seize the Day and Make an Impact!
Community Service Community Service: –SERVICE that a person performs for the benefit of his or her local, state, national, or global COMMUNITY. Examples of Community service include: –Cleaning a park –Collecting much needed items including clothes, shoes, bottle tabs, bottle cans, etc. –Getting involved with Habitat for Humanity –Reading to older people in nursing homes –Helping out your local fire or police department
Community Service Learning Center University of Maryland The mission… is to promote service-learning as an integral aspect of education and to foster university engagement within the larger community. –It provides services, resources, and support to students, student organizations, faculty, and staff desiring to participate in or organize community service and service-learning experiences.
