Observed vs expected mortality. A, The observed mortality was significantly lower than the expected mortality for each treatment group overall. When stratified by operative risk, low-risk open abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) patients had similar observed and predicted mortality rates, whereas medium-risk and high-risk (B) open AAA and all (C) endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) patients had significantly lower rates.
