Welcome to Mixed Flow Fans for Residential and Light Commercial Applications
Introduction S&Ps Mixed Flow fan ranges consist of the ultra popular TD-MIXVENT Series, TD- SILENT Series and TD-SILENT ECOWATT Series. The TD-MIXVENT Series is designed for use in almost any application in which you need to move air through round duct. While the TD-SILENT Series is designed to do the same thing but in applications with extreme noise concerns; specifically when using rigid duct (smooth pipe). TD-SILENT ECOWATT Series combines ultra- low noise levels with low energy usage to create the ultimate mixed flow fan range.
Course Objectives In this course you will learn the following … – The difference between Mixed Flow Fans and Centrifugal or Axial bladed Fans. – The key features and benefits of S&Ps Mixed Flow fans: TD- MIXVENT, TD-SILENT & TD- SILENT ECOWATT – The easy 3 Step installation of S&Ps Mixed Flow Fans – Applications for S&Ps Mixed Flow Fans.
About S&P UK S&P is the worlds largest producer of air movement products. We celebrated our 60th anniversary in 2011. S&P has a presence in over 100 countries, with factories and/or subsidiaries on 6 continents. S&P UK is the UK subsidiary of the Soler & Palau group of companies. Established in 1985 S&P UK has been supplying a wide range of air moving products to a diverse client base operating in the OEM, agricultural and H&V markets. The TD range of fans is S&Ps best selling product across the globe.
Product Applications S&Ps Mixed Flow fans are used in a variety of residential and light commercial ventilation applications such as: Moving Air Through Round Duct Bathroom Extract (incl. Overrun Timer models) Cooker Hood Exhaust Trickle & Boost Ventilation Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV) systems
Key Product Features The Key Features of TD- MIXVENT, TD-SILENT & TD- SILENT ECOWATT are the same. We will review the noise attenuating features of the TD-SILENT later. Click on the hotspots to explore the features of the product. 123456
123456 Key Product Features Low Profile Design Click on the hotspots to explore the features of the product. 1 Ideal product for installations with low height limits, such as the case of suspended ceilings. Note: TD-MIXVENT Shown. Key Features of TD-MIXVENT & TD- SILENT are the same.
123456 Key Product Features Mixed Flow Blades Click on the hotspots to explore the features of the product. 2 Mixed Flow blades offer the best of both Axial and Centrifugal fans: Low noise levels & high air volumes like axial blades Moderate to higher static pressure capabilities of a centrifugal bladed fan Note: TD-MIXVENT Shown. Key Features of TD-MIXVENT & TD- SILENT are the same.
123456 Key Product Features Removable Fan Body Click on the hotspots to explore the features of the product. 3 The easy to remove body makes installation and maintenance a breeze. Note: TD-MIXVENT Shown. Key Features of TD-MIXVENT & TD- SILENT are the same.
123456 Key Product Features Easy Access Terminal Box Click on the hotspots to explore the features of the product. 4 The removable body allows the installer to rotate the motor/impeller body at any angle for easy electrical wiring. Note: TD-MIXVENT Shown. Key Features of TD-MIXVENT & TD- SILENT are the same.
123456 Key Product Features Integral Mounting Bracket Click on the hotspots to explore the features of the product. 5 The integral mounting bracket plus the removable body are designed with the professional contractor/engineer in mind: Easy 3 Step Installation reduces cost Maintenance & Repairs are a breeze. Note: TD-MIXVENT Shown. Key Features of TD-MIXVENT & TD- SILENT are the same.
123456 Key Product Features Energy Efficient Motor Click on the hotspots to explore the features of the product. 6 Standard 2-speed motors which are fully speed controllable The entire range is fitted with energy efficient external rotor motors. Additional energy savings are made in the TD- SILENT ECOWATT models by use of EC motors Note: TD-MIXVENT Shown. Key Features of TD-MIXVENT & TD- SILENT are the same.
Key Features and Benefits Summary FeatureBenefit Low ProfileLimited Space Requirements Mixed Flow Blades Quiet, Higher Air Volumes and Medium Static Pressure Capabilities Removable BodyEase of Installation & Maintenance Easy Access Terminal BoxEase of wiring = Ease of Installation Integral Mounting BracketEase of Installation & Maintenance Energy Efficient, 2-Speed Motor Like having 2 fans in 1 plus if required the ECOWATT models can provide even lower operating costs
TD-SILENT Sound Attenuating Features Energy Efficient Motor Perforated Inner Skin & Sound-Absorbent Insulation: Sound waves are directed through the skin and absorbed by the insulation. Rubber Gaskets: On inlet & outlet to absorb vibrations Sound Statistics: The TD-MIXVENT produces ½ the sound level of a Centrifugal Fan.* The TD-SILENT produces ½ the sound level of a TD-MIXVENT.* *Based on tests where the sound pressure level is radiated at 3 meters in a free field condition, with rigid ducts at the inlet and outlet.
Installation Secure the supports Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Make the connections Connect the ducts
Applications for use Solve any residential or light commercial problem where you need to move air through round duct. Exhaust or Supply Move Air Through Round Duct
Applications for use Solve any residential bathroom installation for both single or even dual vents. Bathroom Extract
Applications for use When used with a grease filter the S&P Mixed Flow fans are ideal for quiet and efficient Cooker Hood Exhaust. Cooker Hood Exhaust
Applications for use Continuous Ventilation (ASHRAE 62.2) ASHRAE 62.2 applies to all residential spaces that are intended for human occupancy in single family homes and multi-family structures up to three stories. These spaces include living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, closets, store rooms, laundry rooms, garages, and basements. Requirements Local Exhaust RequirementWhole Building Ventilation Requirement Kitchens: 100 CFM intermittent or 5 ACH continuous (based on kitchen volume) Bathrooms: 50 CFM intermittent or 20 CFM continuous Required ventilation is based on the size of the house and number of expected occupants. We recommend using a TD- MIXVENT fan with S&Ps CVC – Continuous Ventilation Control A TD-MIXVENT fan can be installed anywhere to run continuously to meet this requirement.
Specific Features and Benefits Benefits of S&P TD-MIXVENT and TD-SILENT Fans Productivity enhancement (Labour saving) 3 Step, simple installation Low profile for flexibility in mounting location Ease of installation Helps meet Building Regs Part F Requirements for both Domestic Dwellings & Non Domestic Buildings Ensure code compliance Reduces Installation & Maintenance time Low noise levels Remote mounting makes the fans virtually silent Reduces noise pollution S&Ps fans come with a 2-year warranty, making a fan you can truly fit and forget Good long term investment
Sales Tips and Techniques The TD-MIXVENT is the most efficient & cost effective way to move air through round duct The TD-SILENT is the ultimate solution when noise is an extreme concern; specifically when using rigid duct (smooth pipe) Reduce Installation & Maintenance Time 2 Speed Motors mean less SKUs if stocking Provides benefits of both Axial and Centrifugal fans, again reducing SKUs if stocking The TD-MIXVENT, TD-SILENT & TD- SILENT ECOWATT are fans exclusive to S&P
