Not common to have a job whilst at school
Bar or restaurant work is most common at university, however only in the evenings or at the weekend
Minimum Wage £6.19 per hour if you are over 21 £4.98 per hour if you are 18 to 20 £3.68 per hour if you are under 18
Most students get their first proper job when they leave university, usually at the age of 22
If a student takes a GAP YEAR it is common for them to work for half the year and travel for the other half.
The most common job is in a shop, but also, waitresses and nannies. Minimum wage A student will typically save £4,000 for travelling.
