The Conceptual Design of Navi Mumbai was developed at the height of Modernism. Each node is self-contained of residential, commercial, infrastructure and recreational uses. The design concept of Navi Mumbai is very idealistic. Vashi the principle center of Navi Mumbai is one of its kind and the main commercial center of Navi Mumbai.
International Airport The new International Airport for Navi Mumbai, destinated for the Kopra-Panvel area, will be built through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) – with private sector Partners having 74% equity and the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and maharashtra Government (through City and Industrial Development Corporation or CIDCO) each holding 13 percent. The airport, to be built at a cost of Rs. 2,787 crore. Airport will have a capacity of 10 million passengers per year.
Navi Mumbai has very few 3 star hotels. However, with the completion of the Navi Mumbai International Airport by 2015, Navi Mumbai is expected to get several 5 star luxury hotels.
