Fig 1 Plot of postoperative aortic incompetence (AIpost) compared with the difference between preoperative and postoperative largest diameter of the aortic root (ΔR). In patients with ΔR greater than or equal to 30 mm, the outcome, in terms of persisting AI, is somewhat disappointing. The use of a larger graft contributes to keeping the ΔR in the desired range.
