Abstract Quadruple Magnets Tuning Tsyganov Aleksandr, Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Russia The tuning of quadruples within the production cycle of BINP is described. The procedure of preliminary adjustment harmonics with bronze inserts between the poles and fine tune with a nose pieces on the poles is shown. The relationship the geometric parameters of these elements with the quality of the magnetic field are presented. The main conclusion - except an understanding of what determines the quality of the magnetic field of quadruples the need for quick and precise measurement for the successful tuning and production magnets.

First measure It is first measure a magnetic property of magnets inside technological cycle of produce quadruples. Measure provide without water cooling and with temporary electrical connections. The height of the magnet spacers must be greater than the rated on the 0.1-0.15mm On the results of this step, we can plan ways tune this magnet.
Insert cooper-chromium bars Insertion cooper- chromium (bronze) bars changed a3 and b4. It step is necessary to obtain a3 and b4 within one unit. In addition insertions is need to achieve good reassembly.

Gluing nose pieces (for long types magnets 9804 9807) After the final adjustment of nose pieces made pinning them. Pinning is a mechanical operation with a some effort on the nose pieces and pole. Therefore need to glue nose pieces. This operation can last up to an hour, the time to start curing epoxy glue. Performed on the magnet without water with a temporary electrical switching on a coils and at low current (40A)

Conclusions A quality magnetic field of the quadruple is determined not only the correctness of the geometry, but no less quality materials.. Fast and precise magnetic measure stand Good team
