It is a unique, ready to use, water based rust preventing compound. It is a unique, ready to use, water based rust preventing compound. Based on Nanotechnology, it acts at the molecular level of the steel surface and completely restores it to rust free condition. The surface to be applied should be clean & free from any dust, dirt, grease, oil & old paint. It can be applied by either Spraying, Brushing, Dipping or any other method. When applied, the colour gradually changes to blue/ black with white spots (because of rust) indicating that the reaction has taken place. Should be applied preferably between the temperatures ranging from 5 C to 45 C for excellent results. The drying time is 30 min and curing time is 24 hrs. which can be reduced further using blower fans, heat lamps etc. Any skilled or unskilled worker can apply it.
Pour / Unload Steel Guard only in a Plastic / PVC container and no other metallic container. Wear proper hand gloves, industrial masks, eye goggles for extra safety. Incase of body contact, please wash off with soapy water first and than plain water. Safe & Eco Friendly Product : Complies to RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substance directive 2002/95/EC) norms. Is an Inorganic, Non – Inflammable, Non evaporative, Non – toxicant Fire Retardant liquid having no Polar formation and Electro Static Effect on Steel.
Steel Guard nanocoat has passed the RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substance) which does not contain Lead, Hexavalent Chromium, Mercury, Cadmium, Polybrominated Diplhenylethers.
Unique, one of its kind water based rust preventer & remover which makes the applied surface rust free for 44,000 hrs or 5 Years minimum. A very thin layer 0.02 microns is formed making it resistant to Scratch & corrosion. Bonding & Adhesion strength of the applied surface increases by more than 100% with Cement, Enamel, Paint, Epoxy etc. Since is water based (Viscosity of 1.035), it gives a much higher coverage area as compared to other conventional primers. Avoids repetetive painting & repainting of structures and gives a longer, durable life avoiding huge maintenance & replacement cost of expensive machinery. Can be applied by any skilled & unskilled labour and is a an Eco – friendly & Non – hazardous product.
Steel Guard forms a protective layer consisting of millions of nuclei on the principles of nanotechnology. Penentrates into very fine cracks & pores of the steel surface and creates a dense forest of micro crystals which acts as a barrier between the surface & atmosphere. Vertical & Peripheral Crystallization takes place which results in an arrangement being generated within the surface and not above it. The micro crystals formed creates their own space within the molecular gap of steel and stops the conversion of Fe2 & Fe3 ions into hydroxy carbonates i.e. Rust. The arrangement formed is so closely interlinked & interwoven, it does not allow gas & water to penetrate inside iron, thus stopping it from corroding.
Doesnt water in Steel Guard cause Rust ? No, the water in steel guard contains a rust inhibitor which prevents it from happening. Will Steel Guard wash off in Rains ? No. Once applied properly, dried & cured for 24 hrs. rain cannot remove the coating. Can Steel Guard protect from Acid & Acidic Fumes ? Yes, in such applications it acts as a base primer on which any other enamel, epoxy, paint can be applied. Can Steel Guard be removed after coating ? Yes. Heat the treated metal upto 600 C to loosen the grip of Steel Guard and than brush it off.

The steel sample shown was heated to 400ºc & was hammered away. The chips where peeled off from the surface of steel and observed under the microscope. The picture of which is shown here.
Metalab, a NABL accredited labrotary report shows No Scaling, No Blistering and No change in the physical form, even after heating upto 300 C.
The ELCA Laboratories report shows a 6 time (600%) increase in the life of the applied steel with Steel Guard when compared with untreated rebar The test was conducted under the stringent ASTM Standards.
The following test shows no rust formation till 2000 hrs after using steel guard as a base primer with the total thickness of 7o microns. (ASTM standards)

The following test results no rust formation until 120 hrs of coating Steel Guard nanocoat with a thickness of only 0.02 microns conducted under ASTM B – 117 standards.
The following test conducted by Tisco, Jamshedpur shows that no rust was observed after 8 Hrs, more than 50 % rust was observed after 24 Hrs. and 100% rust was observed after 32 hrs.

The Pull out (Bonding) test results show an increase of more than 100 % in the bonding strength of nanocoated rebars with concrete.
Dense forest of micro crystals are formed which has great affinity towards cement & steel becoming inseparable up to 600 C. Each crystal nucleus of Steel Guard nanocoat has power to attract other cement & paint molecules by virtue of crystal forces and forms a TRAP for molecules of paint / cement which do not have sufficient energy to escape. Chemisorptions takes place where the molecules are held by a strong chemical bond formed between molecules of Steel Guard & Steel. Each crystal of Steel Guard nanocoat is cubic shaped ( diamond shaped – 3 & 4 axes) which helps in increasing the adherence of steel / paint with substrate.

Steel Guard nanocoatConventional Primer Based on nanotechnology, it penerates deep inside the pores of the rusted surface and brings out the exisiting rust & stops further rusting. Creates a barrier between the surface & oxygen to stop rusting and does not remove the rust from already corroded. Coating thickness of only 0.02 microns which makes it highly scratch resistant. (Tested upto 5 kgs) Coating thickness varies from 20 – 60 microns making it vulnerable to scratch's and exposing the surface to open atmospheric condition. The unique crystalline arrangement of Steel guard nanocoat adheres to both the Steel & Paint surface very strongly leading to an enarmorous increase in the bonding of paint with steel. No such arrangement is formed, whereas conventional primers reduce the bonding of steel with paint. The final coat of paint on the surface does not peel off readily on applying Steel Guard nanocoat. The coated paint becomes brittle and ultimately peels off leaving the surface exposed to further corrosion. Since Steel Guard is water based, it gives a much higher coverage area. Very less coverage area. An Eco friendly, safe, reusable, RoHS complied liquid having no adverse environmental impact. Contains hazardous chemicals like Red lead having an adverse environment effect. Steel Guard nanocoat have sucessfully passed a 170 degree Bend Test. No such data available. Based on latest development i.e. 21 st century.Outdated technology i.e. 19 th century.
