Adopted Saturday, June 14 th, 2012 Text: Ephesians 1:3-14

Paul writes in our Text for Today Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight….
Paul continues… … In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will--to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ.. Predestination = Chosen God has chosen us to be His own adopted children in Jesus Christ.
Adoption 1.The word adoption is NOT found in the Old Testament. A.The Jews did not practice adoption; B.Jesus does not use the word adoption; 2.Paul introduced the concept from his Roman background.
