7 Hurricane season Hurricane season lasts June 1 st through November 30 th.

8 Evacuation plan An evacuation plan is a plan of where to meet in case of a hurricane. The plan usually involves leaving town, getting out of the projected path of the hurricane. If you are unable to leave town, a hurricane shelter is another option. Many shelters do not accept pets, so other arrangements will need to be made prior to evacuation. People living in flood areas are typically given a mandatory evacuation order. The evacuation plan is ready and known to all family members before the hurricane hits.
