Miss Americas Outstanding Teen, Inc. 2013 Marketing Guide

MAOTeen Brand SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT CREATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT HEALTHY LIVING AND FITNESS COMMUNITY SERVICE Founded in 2005, Miss Americas Outstanding Teen, Inc., a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization, was organized to encourage positive achievement by helping to nurture and build the scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living, and community involvement of our nations youth. The Miss Americas Outstanding Teen Organization, the little sister to Miss America, is one of the nations leading achievement programs and one of the worlds largest providers of scholarship assistance for young women.

Building Character The Miss Americas Outstanding Teen Organization has established community- based initiatives and mentoring programs aimed at helping our nations youth build character and gain the skills necessary for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, community and business leaders, as well as participants from the national competition, the Organization has been implementing programs aimed at helping young people develop strong values, leadership skills, social conscience, self- worth and conviction about their own potential. Funds raised by the Organization are being used to fund scholarships for deserving young women according to guidelines established by the Organizations Board of Directors in accordance with Internal Revenue Service rules and regulations. Funds are also being used to establish and develop the Organizations mentoring program and community-based initiatives.

Scholastic Achievement The Miss Americas Outstanding Teen Organization, the little sister to Miss America, is one of the nations leading achievement programs and one of the worlds largest providers of scholarship assistance for young women. Through our partnership with our local and state teen organizations in every state, DC, Puerto Rico, and the USVI, over $4,000,000 in cash and scholarship assistance has been made available. Each year, the Miss Americas Outstanding Teen Organization hosts a national competition that encourages and rewards the talent, communication skills, community service, and academic achievements of girls between 13 and 17 years of age.

Creative Accomplishment From American Idol and Americas Got Talent to the stage at Carnegie Hall, MAOTeen contestants have performed across the nation. All of our participants are encouraged to develop their creative abilities in the field of the arts. Many are award winning musicians, dancers and singers. While winning scholarships to attend renowned schools for the arts such as NYU and The Joffrey Ballet School, our contestants are making their mark in the field of entertainment.

Healthy Living and Fitness Our organization is committed to assisting teens in adopting healthy lifestyles. Statistics prove that teens who are like-minded on this subject are far less likely to get into trouble. We believe that peer relationships which encourage a drug, tobacco and alcohol free life are invaluable. MAOTeen promotes fitness and a healthy lifestyle through on-stage competitions as well as involvement in DARE, MADD, SADD, Zero Smoke and Tobacco-Free organizations

Community Service Each year, our teens volunteer thousands of hours with local, state and national organizations. During their year of service, they speak to their peers on the importance of volunteering. Our teens are also involved in developing their own platforms. Caitlin Brunell, Miss Americas Outstanding Teen 2008, formed her own non-profit organization called Caitlins Closet. She has collected over 5,000 dresses so less fortunate teens can participate in their prom or some other important event. The efforts of this national winner and her charity were highlighted in Seventeen magazine and USA Today. MAOTeen also has a long standing relationship with the Childrens Miracle Network, a non- profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children. By raising funds for childrens hospitals across North America and working with our sister organization, Miss America, we have collectively raised over $8 million dollars.
