B OTTOMS : P ANTS, SLACKS, JEANS, CAPRIS, SKIRTS, SKORTS, DRESSES, AND WALKING SHORTS MUST BE EITHER TAN, BROWN, BLACK, KHAKI, BLUE OR GRAY. (C APRI PANTS : PANTS THAT START AT THE WAISTLINE WITH LENGTH EXTENDING TO OR BETWEEN THE CALF AND ANKLE ) P ANTS MUST FIT AT THE WAIST AND BE PROPERLY HEMMED OR CUFFED AT OR BELOW THE ANKLE, BUT NOT DRAGGING THE GROUND ( SLICING OR RAGGING NOT ALLOWED ). 5 R EADING EXPECTATIONS Formal DRA assessments will be given regularly to evaluate reading and comprehension progress. The levels will help determine teaching strategies, goals, and needs. Please note the following district grade level benchmarks: Beginning of Kindergarten: Level A Mid-year January: Level 2 End of Kindergarten: Level 3 Our end of the year goal for reading is that 90% of all students will be reading at or above a level 3.

8 R EADING H OMEWORK The guided reading books that comes home, has been read in the classroom. Please let your child read it to you. No new book will come home until the current book is returned. Lost or damaged books must be replaced. The fee is $8 for each book.
