Kazakhstan New Country Manager, Sergei Shatalov (as of 1 Jan 07) JERP – co-financed by GoK and WB for analytical work on agreed topics JERP Fisheries study completed, well received, could form the basis for further cooperation: –Possible investments/activities, including a sturgeon hatchery, improved monitoring, control and surveillance, a fisheries management information system, reform of the legal framework, and co-management of resources. –$2 million JSDF grant obtained to assist Aral Sea fishing communities, including piloting co-management approaches on a small scale.
