Intracellular Th1 cytokines after stimulation with HHV-6 antigen, as a marker of antigen-specific T-cell activation. Examples of flow cytometry results of 4 individuals with ciHHV-6 (obtained in seperate flow cytometry runs). Whereas 1 individual under antiviral chemotherapy with Valganciclovir showed a low T-cell response (Fig. 1a, patient no. 9), the other individuals show significant HHV-6 specific T-cell responses (Fig. 1b-d, patients no. 5, 6, and 10).
