2 Alvin Community College and Alvin Independent School District have teamed up to give Alvin HS students the opportunity to graduate from high school with college credits and for some students, possibly a two year college degree.

During school year, over 325 AHS students participated in dual credit classes offered on the Alvin High School campus. According to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, 91,000 Texas high school students are earning college credits through dual credit programs.

Spanish I and II (in one year) SPAN 1411 & 1412 BIM (Business Info. Management) BCIS 1405 May be a part of a student’s high school schedule on the high school campus. OR May be taken after the high school day has ended or during the summer at ACC

ACC/AISD Dual Credit Program Select courses on form with high school counselor. Dual Credit courses will have DC next to them French I/II DC Spanish I/II DC Keyboarding DC Business Information Mgmt. I DC Theatre Arts I-DC May select up to 2 DC courses each semester Additional courses require a 3.0 (B avg.) GPA or 85+ for high school average of all courses College NOW…let me show you how!

ACC/AISD Dual Credit Program Manvel HS Saturday, April 6, 2013 Alvin HS Saturday, April 13, 2013 Nolan Ryan JH Saturday, February 16, 2013 Pre-register with your counseling office at your school Paper & Pencil Exam; approximately 10 days for scores to return (home) 5hrs to complete in any order (Suggested order: Reading/Writing/Math) $ ($10.00 to register and $29.00 day of exam) Can take at either high school (Also given at ACC-must preregister at alvincollege.edu)

Must pre-register online at alvincollege.edu (apply to ACC first) Cost $39 – pay online at time of registration Takes approximately 2 hours Must take all 3 parts (Read, Writing, and Math) Receive results immediately
