PTFE vascular graft preparation. Vascular grafts were covered with an outer layer of Teflon tubing and connected end to end with silicone rubber tubing. After removal of the Teflon rod, a smooth flow channel was achieved.

Platelet deposition on various vascular graft preparations. EC monolayers were associated with minimal platelet accumulation. Platelet deposition on grafts covered with early attached ECs was similar to that on control ePTFE grafts. Grafts treated with collagen type I only were highly thrombogenic; 7 of 11 grafts became occluded and four remained for evaluation.
