Heart disease, obesity, diabetes and dozens of other health and fitness afflictions are skyrocketing; most of which can be prevented, controlled, or even eliminated by a simple prescription of diet and exercise.

People move less than ever before, often spending the majority of their days sitting. Low back pain is a leading cause in musculoskeletal dysfunction and it affects over 80% of adults.

Unfortunately, a record number of children and adolescents in the United States are overweight or obese as well, which often leads to obesity in adulthood.

These numbers are staggering in relation to the 4% and 6.1% of children and adolescents, respectively, who were obese in the 1971 to 1974 NHANES data set.

Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted from 2007 to indicates that 19.6% of children and 18.1% of adolescents were obese at that time.

23 NASM CERTIFICATION After program completion students will have the opportunity to sit for NASM’s CPT exam, the most sought after fitness certification in the industry. Students under the age of 18 can earn a Provisional Certification. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the need for qualified health and fitness professionals will increase 29% between 2008 and 2018.
