To create awareness and opportunities for all Tanzanian men and women towards the cricket sport, especially to the youths through sustainable development program without discrimination of any kind. To bring Tanzanians together through the game of cricket. To produce and sustain strong national teams for both men and women of all age groups i.e. U 15, U17, U19 and the seniors. To preserve the ethics and the spirit of the game and to work hand in hand with International Cricket Council in globalizing the game. To create job opportunities through the game of cricket. To educate and create awareness of the fatal epidemic disease HIV/AIDS by means of conducting seminars.
To organise various competition of different age groups for both boys and girls in primary and secondary school levels in all regions to build competitive spirits. Initially to target and involve a minimum of five primary schools each with 100 boys and 100 girls in all 21 regions of Tanzania towards the game that shall eventually spread to secondary schools, institutions of higher learning and clubs in a time span of 8 to 10 years. To encourage primary school children to participate and enjoy the modified game in the form of mini cricket played with soft ball which provides a medium where the children can be coached while having fun and learn the basics of the game for a better cricketing future. To organize advance competitions at club levels as domestic leagues played under the I.C.C rules and regulations with implementation of the I.C.C code of conduct. Translating all coaching and umpiring manuals into Kiswahili Language. Educating and accrediting more school sports teachers i nvolved in the game starting with beginners and level 1 towards basics of coaching, umpiring, and scoring by means of conducting seminars. to be appointed as regional development officers. Educating and accrediting more level II and level III coaches To produce great players from the development program for a brighter cricket future of Tanzania.
Tanzania became an associate member with the International Cricket Council (I.C.C) in June 2001 and it has also become an associate member with the International Womens Cricket Council (I.W.C.C) in Sept. 2004. In the course of the development program, 80 school teachers have already been accredited as beginners and level I coaches, 30 teachers as level II coaches and 3 persons as level III coaches. The under 17 boys and girls national team won the East African Cricket Championship in 2002. Tanzania became the first country to initiate and host the inaugural Africa womens tournament and won the Championship in April 2004.
Tanzania became the first country to build a Cricket Academy in East and Central Africa at Muhimbili Primary School. TCA has also build a full size cricket ground at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro region. Master Hamis Abdallah achieved the National Sportsman of the year award in 2002. TCA has already introduced its development program into 7 regions in Tanzania. TCA has a website (www.tanzaniacricket.com) to disseminate its information globally.
