American football, known in the United States and Canada simply as football, is a competitive team sport known for mixing strategy with physical play. The objective of the game is to score points by advancing the ball into the opposing team's end zone. Football attracts more television viewers than any other sport, and is considered the most popular sport in the United States. The 32-team National Football League (NFL) is the most popular and only major professional football league. Its championship game, the Super Bowl, is arguably the biggest annual sporting event held in the United States.
Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each. The goal of baseball is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of four markers called bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot square. Major League Baseball teams play almost every day from April to October. The World Series is the championship series of Major League Baseball, the culmination of the sport's postseason each October. It is played between the winner of each of the two leagues, the American League and the National League
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams of five active players each try to score points against one another by placing a ball through a 10 feet high hoop under organized rules. In regards to professional sports, basketball is ranked third in popularity behind football and baseball. The National Basketball Association, more popularly known as the NBA, is the world's premier men's professional basketball league and one of the major professional sports leagues of North America.
Soccer is another popular sport in the United States, where it has a popularity today that is at an all-time high, and is growing every year. Major League Soccer is the premier soccer league in the United States. In 1994, when the U.S. hosted the FIFA World Cup, it had the highest attendance of any single-sport event in U.S. history.
-National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) - the USA is the first country in the World which organized the Association of Students Sport in 1905. - Every school has its own football, basketball, baseball team, great equipment for training, experienced and professional coaches. The same situation with colleges. -High school and college sports fill the developmental role that in many other countries would be the place of youth teams associated with clubs. -Professional teams draft top student athletes when they finish their education. - Colleges provide to young sportsmen a good scholarship.
