3 Figure 2 Ratio and 90% CI of AZD9668 to placebo for changes in sputum inflammatory biomarkers. Compared with placebo, AZD9668 was associated with reductions in all sputum biomarkers (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8, IL-1β, RANTES, MCP-1) except LTB4. Changes in IL-6 and RANTES were statistically significant. There were no changes in blood inflammatory biomarkers. LTB4 = leukotriene B4; MCP-1 = monocyte chemoattractant protein-1; RANTES = regulated on activation, normal T-cell expressed and secreted; TNF = tumor necrosis factor.
