Online Resources From Oxford University Press
This presentation gives a brief description of the Berg Fashion Library It tells you what the Berg Fashion Library is how it can help you how to look for information in it The presentation will take about 4 minutes
The Berg Fashion Library is a unique online portal which offers fully cross-searchable access to an expanding range of Berg content collections – including the 10 volumes of the Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion online, e-books, reference works, images, and much more.
It is updated three times a year to keep students, scholars and professionals at the cutting edge of their subject. It caters to a wide range of subject areas, including fashion, garment manufacture, anthropology, sociology and geography.
The site has already won several prestigious awards, including the 2011 Dartmouth Medal, the 2011 Frankfurt Book Fair Digital Award, the 2011 Bookseller Futurebook Award for best website and the 2013 Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association Electronic Reference Award.
The Berg Fashion Librarys image collection includes 2000 images from the print Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion, 1,600 from the Victoria and Albert Museum's internationally renowned fashion collection, 2,000 from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute collection, 600 images from MoMu Fashion Museum, Belgium, and more. 500 images from the Fashion Museum, Bath (of a total of 1,000 to come) and 2,000 images from the Commercial Pattern Archive (CoPA) have recently been added. You can search the entire content at once. hat
