2 17 Predictions on Future of Resort Development 1.Americans traveling aboard will start to increase. 2.US Airlines will continue to lose share of total passenger miles traveled. 3.Regional drive-to resorts will attract more guests than national fly-to resorts. 4.Business travel will become more an elective and less a requirement. 5.More Americans will telecommute. 6.Mixing business & leisure 24/7 will lead to greater stress.

Business travel: electronic face to face. Leisure travel: Ill fly if I have to. Airport hassels, airline service low. Americans will fly less and drive more.

Travel no longer required for business. During same period, leisure travel rose 16%. Leisure travelers and families remain the backbone of hotel & travel industry.

Cells phones have reduced weekends, taken away Saturdays and nights out. Workweek now averages over 48 hours. 76% of Americans now seek relief 2X adults look forward to spa vacation.
