The sector makes up 5.3% of total employment in the Humber which is a much higher share than in the Leeds and Sheffield city regions in in England.

10 REIU (Regional Economic Intelligence Unit) Ports & Logistics Specialism Location Quotient Humber LCR SCR The technique is used to gauge the extent of specialisation within a particular sector compared to a reference economy, in this case the UK. A score above 1 suggests some specialisation and any score below 1 indicates no/minimal specialisation. The table above shows strong specialisation in the ports and logistics sector in the Humber compared to the England. It also shows keys strengths in Sheffield City Region.
