What is Sufism but the intention to go towards the truth by means of love and devotion. This which we call Tariqat is the singers spiritual path to God Indira
Introducing Indira, the singer whos voice is an instrument of beauty and power, of earthy sweetness and stark sensuality, evoking images of modern grace and old-world mysticism. Classically trained in the Patiala Gayaki, Indira has learned from Guru Satyanarayan Singh, Guru Mohinderjeet Singh and Pandit Dayal Thakur. She has also trained under Pandit Vithal Rao from Hyderabad for Ghazals. Indiras music is a tribute to age old traditions set against the backdrop of our times. Indiras talent and her ability to apply it to an unexpected genre was very much part of her own evolving process. In a genre dominated by soul-stirring greats like Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali saab, Jagjit Singh and Pankaj Udhas… heres a true female counterpart - one whos dard and ehsaas are comparable to the greats. Having toured widely all over the world, Indira has built a reputation for herself, enthralling audiences with live renditions the world over including the U.S., the UK, Portugal and Brunei as well across the length and breadth of India.
