4 Company Overview

5 World leader in high-end visual systems
for business, entertainment and industry Founded in 1929, Christie has a rich history in the cinema industry with almost 80 years in mechanical film manufacturing. In 1999, Christie acquired Electrohome Projection Systems, an international manufacturer of commercial projection systems. Electrohome Projection Systems was a division of Electrohome, Canada’s largest consumer electronics manufacturer based in Ontario, Canada. The marriage of capabilities led to the establishment of Christie’s digital projection operations. Christie is a privately held company and subsidiary of Japanese parent company, USHIO Inc. USHIO holds the leading global share in Xenon short-arc lamps for cinema projectors and is publicly traded on the Nikkei-Dow (Tokyo). Christie joined the Ushio group of companies in 1992, merging with Ushio America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ushio Inc.

13 The Product

14 Christie MicroTiles™ – The New Digital Canvas

15 Key Features MicroTiles is a breakthrough display technology from Christie utilizing advanced DLP® and LED technologies Features include: Any size, any shape, virtually seamless Exceptional brightness and contrast Rich palette for unbeatable color matching Looks good at any distance or angle More pixels than any alternative technology Easy to assemble like building blocks Self-calibration for color and brightness Long-lasting and reliable components Front access for rapid servicing

16 Out-of-home Advertising
Applications Architecture Event Production Command and Control Out-of-home Advertising

17 Alternative Technologies (displays over 1 m2)
LCD / Plasma Commoditized (people ignore them) Poorly suited for tiled arrays (heavy, seams, calibration, servicing) Concerns with burn-in, heat and short lifetime Affordable Projection Front projection requires line of sight and controlled lighting conditions Traditional rear projection sometimes too deep Seamless LED Too bright and pixellated close up Color shift off axis and over time Cost prohibitive Bright

30 MicroTiles Features: The System

31 External Control Unit (ECU)
Easy Assembly Step 1: Build the bottom row, ensuring it is level Step 2: Add rows Step 3: Connect data and power to the tiles, and to the ECU and media server External Control Unit (ECU) Video & Control Media Server (by others) Video

32 Auto Setup and Self-Calibration
Step 4: Switch on The tiles automatically detect each other and display their portion of the image Color and brightness capabilities of each tile ECU Common color and brightness setting

33 System Bandwidth Single link DVI input on ECU supports up to 165 Mpixels/sec Includes standard resolutions such as (at 60Hz): HDTV (1920 x1080) UXGA (1600x1200) WUXGA (1920x1200) ECU Single Link DVI Display Port Cable

34 Rich Upscaling Six tiles per ECU supports native resolution on the tiles If you have more tiles, content will be upscaled to fit Upscaled content looks great on MicroTiles because of its ground-breaking pixel density ECU Single Link DVI Display Port Cable

35 Unlimited Bandwidth If you need to display more content pixels, just add ECUs ECU Brightness & Color More pixels per sq. m. than any other large display lets you achieve any resolution you want

36 Multiple Synchronized Sources
Synchronize multiple sources to create one big canvas ECU Vista is a great option for more complex video processing

37 System Design Made Easy
Design, visualize and specify a MicroTiles display with MicroTiles Designer, a free software tool from Christie Quickly determine how many tiles and ECUs you need Render the tiles and video content in a 2D or 3D space Output a BOM with correct quantities and part numbers

38 Environmentally Responsible
Built to last Palletized to reduce packaging Three power modes to manage brightness and energy Customize and program brightness Minimum ~400 ~35 watts per tile RoHS compliant (e.g., restriction of lead, mercury)

39 Recap Where you need any or all of the following:
Any size, any shape, virtually seamless Exceptional brightness and contrast Rich palette for unbeatable color matching Looks good at any distance or angle More pixels than any alternative technology Easy to assemble like building blocks Self-calibration for color and brightness Long-lasting and reliable components Front access for rapid servicing
