16 A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s SubFinder Absence Reporting For School-Based Staff All absences must be reported even if a sub is not needed All school-based personnel need to report their absences through SubFinder (not temporary employees) Absences should be reported as soon as possible. If less than 1 hour before job start time, please contact Sub Coordinator, Mel Allbright at 541-1301 Only report your work hours. The system defaults to a full school day. If you are not a full time employee, specify your work hours. Absences must comply with Meet and Confer. Restricted day absences must be approved in writing and in advance. 17 A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s Federal and State laws require school district employees to be trained on topics related to the workplace and students. Kyrene offers this training online. Mandatory Training Modules include Sexual Harassment, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting, Bullying, and Bloodborne Pathogens, among others Employee trainings are accessed through the iVisions PortaliVisions Portal 5 to10 minutes to complete each module Training Modules are completed by all employees annually and for new employees during the first 30 days of employment Mandatory Trainings

18 A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s Meet & Confer Authorized Absences Employees accrue approximately twelve (12) day/96 hours per year of Authorized Absences, prorated to FTE. Sick days – Seven (7) days will be designated for Sick Days Personal days – Five (5) days will be designated for Personal Days Bereavement days –Three (3) days per annum Personal Days may not be used on Blackout days. Blackout days are as follows: First five (5) instructional days of school The first instructional day of each quarter The day prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday AIMS testing dates (excluding makeup testing) Last two (2) instructional days of the school year

19 A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s Leave of Absence For an absence from work under any of the following conditions, you must contact Human Resources to inquire about an authorized Leave of Absence. 20 A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Federal law establishes minimum wage, child labor standards, overtime pay and record-keeping which requires the accurate recording of exact hours worked Exempt and non-exempt (hourly) differences Non-exempt employees are not allowed to donate their time

21 A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s Certified Staff Professional Education Credit * Credits are submitted online via the iVisions portal Must be submitted by February 15 th See Meet and Confer for Education Credits criteria Reminder: Credits not approved at hire must be claimed within 30 days of first contracted date of employment *Depending on budget capacity

22 A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s BENEFIT ENROLLMENT PROCESS Benefit Info given during new hire process, log in to iVisions to enroll Complete online new hire enrollment within 31 days of first day of work Waiting Period: benefits effective 1 st of the month following 30 days of employment District paid medical plan allowance eligibility = 30 or more hours per week in eligible positions Medical allowance covers full cost of employee only Standard PPO Medical Plan School site employees = 20 benefit deductions
