2 Origin 2 phases of history – before and after re- location in 1999. 12 th year in Akungba-Akoko. As a distinct University, came into being by an Act of Parliament signed into law by Gov. A. Adefarati, November 5,1999, as Ondo State University. Name-change to AAUA – after late Gov. Adekunle Ajasin, in 2004. 820 hectares of land. University of Nigeria, Nsukka: exploring collaboration with the UNNs Department of Mass Communication on academic staff exchange. SICDA, USA – visit by team to AAUA in 2010. University Putra Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur: MoU signed in May 2010 on academic exchange. British Council PM grant – worth N30m in the first year, renewable - to develop a special program on Language Documentation and Anthropological Linguistics, 2010. 15 Feedback from external publics. An AAUA graduate Mrs. Grace Funke Ige, won the World Best Teacher Award in the UK. A BFN graduate topped the April 2009 diet of the CIBN Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), AAUA chapter, received five awards at 2010 SIFE national competition, Abuja. Louis Adekola – best Ondo State debater; and 3 rd nationally. Staff School – 1 st out of 74 schools in Ondo State. Several post-doc fellowships and research grant won by staff. 16 Achievement Ingredients Greater funding since 2009. In 2010 – Capital: N2.2bn.; Recurrent: – N1.8bn.; IGR: about 20% of recurrent budget. 80% budget performance. Improved quality of instructions. Expansion in research facilities. Continuous re-training of the academic staff - in content and pedagogy. Curricular being re-engineered for greater effectiveness. Enhanced Human Capacity.
