A School Outing
It is nine oclock. The pupils of year four are not at school.
They are on the bus with their teacher.
They are going by bus to Villa Psaigon.
They pass through busy and quiet streets and at last they arrive at Dingli.
At Villa Psaigon they meet Mr. Micallef.
He tells them that all living things are divided into two groups – animals and plants.
They eat a sandwich and drink a glass of milk.
Then off they go to Buskett. Here the teacher shows them
the different trees that grow there – pine, cypress and carob.
These trees grow in many other parts of Malta.
The children then draw what they can see – the trees around them,
the lovely butterflies and Verdala Palace on the hill.
They are sorry to see the litter that careless people
leave behind. It makes the place look so untidy.
The children go to Villa Psaigon
