In order to project your presentation you need to enable video mirroring on your Laptop This is usually done with a Function key combination For Compaqs it is Fn + F3 For IBMs it is Fn + F7 It is different on almost every type of laptop, look for the function key with two monitor symbols

They are pretty confusing, the more presentations you do, the more comfortable you will be using the projector. All the Inputs (cable connections) will allow to do more with your presentation.
