Credit Card Use Lesson 6.01
Facts If you do have a credit card, make sure to only use it for emergencies. Credit cards have high interest and other fees that can cause problems that will stay with you beyond your teen years. If you do have a credit card, remember to review your credit report each year
Reasons why Credit Cards are useful The standard debit card offers zero rewards or very small rewards. If you sign up for the right credit card, you can earn anywhere from 1-5% back on your purchases. Many card rewards work on a point system where you earn up to five points per dollar spent. If you have no credit or are trying to improve your credit score, using a credit card responsibly will help your credit score.
Reasons to not use Credit Card Don't use your credit card to make everyday purchases Don't get into the habit of making minimum-only payments. Don't apply for a credit card without reading the terms. Don't use your credit card to buy things you cant afford. Don't close out a credit card without knowing how your credit will be impacted.
Credit Cards can be very useful if you use them correctly
