11. Building Your First Deck-1 Legally you need at least 60 cards in your deck. You may buy pre- made decks or make your own deck. You can have as many cards as you want in your deck but it is best to stay around the sixties. Theme decks do have 40 cards. It is best when you are new to start with a theme deck deck then as you get better customize your deck. You will need to add 7 more land and 13 other cards of the right color. You can play with one or more colors. Two colors make a nice mix. The colors are Black, White, Red, Blue, and Green.

12. Building Your First Deck-2 After you have played with your 60 card deck change out the cards that dont work well for you. Get more cards by trading from your friends or buying booster packs. As long as your deck has 60 cards you are good. You can only have four of the same card in your deck except for the Land cards which you need to pay the mana cost of each card.

You will need to draw enough lands of the right type to play all the other cards in your hand. You can play one against one or team against team.
