Good news.... Between 2006/07 and 2010 food waste has reduced by around 13%, over 1 million tonnes......this amount of food would fill Wembley stadium! BUT... We can do more...
Competition Time What is involved? Create a recipe using leftovers. Then if you are chosen cook your recipe for the judges. When do I enter by? By start of week 5 - Monday 17 th September Cooking will run in week 8 – Tuesday 9 th October after school until 6pm What do I win? 1 st – £50 vouchers 2 nd - £25 vouchers Any other important information....
Notes for slides Slide no.2 - Start by talking about how much we love food! Slide no.3 - Fuel, food for animals, water, energy fro cooking... The list could go on depending on how detailed you got. Total mileage for pizza with these toppings = 17,400 miles. Most of us dont think about that when were eating it! Slide no.4 - We use a lot of resources to make our food and yet a lot gets wasted. Slide no.5 - In a school of 1000 pupils you could all have 700 free chocolate bars! Or 4,400 free apples each
