2. 2 Executive Summary Proposal: » Create User Support Center at SLAC to serve LSST Dark Energy Science Community » Target elements of Center are simulations, science applications/analysis and access to computing Goals: » Hit the ground running with LSST data at First Light (2020) » Achieve high level of science productivity across DESC and the DE community, facilitated by the Center » KIPAC and SLAC becomes a recognized center for DE science and a go-to place for US research activity in this area » Synergies with campus (CS etc) are created, coupling computational ideas to exploiting physics potential » Significant computing cycles are devoted to DE at SLAC, at HPC centers and the GRID.
