AREA DESCRIPTION LakIthra is a traditionally Greek village with a bakery, kafeneion, some tavernas and a few pretty churches. High in the hills above the Kato Livatho area there are spectacular panoramic rural and coastal views which inspired Lord Byron during his stay in Metaxata. The south-west beaches from Lassi to Lourdas are all easily accessible by car. The appeal of Lakithra lies in its proximity to Argostoli town and local sandy beaches. There are fabulous rural and sea views and it has traditional village 'feel'. Although it is a sleepy village off season, unlike many of the tourist resorts it stays functional during the winter months which makes Lakithra an excellent choice of village in which to live.
