3 OPEN DAY FOR GRADE IX & X held on 03.04.2012 Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation was explained in detail. The format of the report was discussed in detail throwing more light on co-scholastic areas. Since it is a method of CCE, students were asked not to absent themselves unless it is a genuine reason. Students are to strictly follow the uniform code prescribed by the school. Introduction of integrated classes for class IX was discussed and the doubts raised were clarified.

4 OPEN DAY FOR GRADE VI – VIII HELD ON 04.04.2012 Subject teachers were introduced. Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation - the system of evaluation was explained in detail Integrated smart classes for Foundation courses, NTSE, Olympiad, IIT-JEE, and AIEEE&AIPMT to be introduced for class VI, VII&VIII. More practical sessions in science to be conducted.

5 OPEN DAY FOR GRADE IV & V HELD ON 05.04.2012 Our Vice Principal Mrs.Meenakshi Vaidyanathan addressed the parents gathered for the open day. Assemblies for the academic year 2012-13 to be based on various international days like World Health day, Mother Earth day etc. More emphasis to be given for Hand writing. Parents were asked to cooperate and support in improving the communication skills.. No books day to continue this year. Academic planner to be mailed by April which would contain the details of competitions. PTM on Fridays between 2:20 p.m to 3:20 p.m. Children will be assessed and evaluated on the basis of CCE.

Novel Curriculum partnering with chrysalis, a structured, well researched and tested approach to teaching and learning was announced. Parents were given a detailed explanation and a demo on the same. Assemblies for the academic year 2012-13 to be based on various international days like World Health day, Mother Earth day etc. More emphasis to be given for Hand writing. 9 Yuvabharathi Public School, actively took part in the events related to the celebration of World Health Day. Firstly, a special assembly was conducted by Grade X-An awareness about health was spread through a speech and a short demonstration of Yoga and Aerobics. To promote healthy diet, all students were asked to bring a fruit or a salad along with their lunch. In addition to this, we invited Mr.A.Jagan, the director of Shape Up fitness studio and Ms.Shaili, a Physiotherapist from V.G.Hospital to guide us through the day. They came around each class and enlightened the students about BMI (Body Mass Index) and advised each student on their health.

12 VISIT TO MARUTHAMALAI TEMPLE FOR EARTH WEEK In view of the Earth Day on 22 nd April, the students of Yuvabharathi Public School,motivated by noted environmentalist Yoganathan took part in a cleanliness campaign on 19 th April. They removed discarded plastic waste in and around Marudhamalai area. The deputy commissioner of Marudhamalai temple, Mr.Kumaraguru inaugurated the campaign. In his brief address to the students, he urged them to protect the environment from plastic which he said is causing havoc to all forms of life. Mr. Yoganathan, in his address explained the harmful effects of plastic on our environment. Under the guidance of Yoganathan, teachers and Eco Club volunteers divided the students into groups and took them up the hill. They students collected discarded plastic waste on their way. The students found the experience very useful and memorable as it made them feel that they were doing their bit for the environment. At the end they resolved to do all that they could to keep the environment free from plastic menace.

13 WORKSHOP BY HELIKS FOR PRIMARY TEACHERS

14 Workshop for teachers Primary teachers were given an orientation programme by HELIKS. The first session of the training for the teachers started to identify and guide children with learning disabilities.

15 A NOBLE GESTURE With the support of all the parents, teachers and most importantly our committed yuvabharathians, Yuvabharathi Public School has donated rupees forty two thousand to the Poor Children Scholarship Programme of Shanthi Ashram. Mr. Vijayaraghavan, project in-charge, Shanthi Ashram who received the amount from the Principal Mrs. Geetha Jayachandran thanked the school for its overwhelming support and care it had shown for the poor children.

16 Bank for Food Yuvabharathi Public School donated the first set of food items brought by students, teachers and others for the FOOD BANK service programme of Shanthi Ashram. It was handed over to them on 25 th April 2012 The food items will go to help the children affected by HIV.

19 A Family is both the fundamental unit of society as well as the root of culture. Our aim was to emphasize the importance of being in a family. On account of International Family day Yuvabharathi observed Family week (23.04.2012 to 27.04. 2012) the students of IX-A came forward to spread this idea through tunes and skit. Family is the most important ingredient in the recipe of Life. Family is like a dish, and its flavouring items are its members. As how a dish is known by its ingredients even a family is known by its members.

20 NO BOOKS DAY AND KHEL DHIN HELD ON 27.04.2012

21 NO BOOKS DAY – a day looked forward by our kids with lot of excitement and enthusiasm. It was a day of fun filled activities and games. All our kids had a wonderful time.

22 ACTIVITIES : GRADE II They had lot of fun playing Tenny Lone, Follow the Leader and Whos the Leader. Grade III A lot of physical activity was part of the games for Grade III. The children were totally enthusiastic in playing Filling the buckets, Jump over the cones and Hoops Relay. Grade IV & V The students were very competitive and really enjoyed playing Water filling and Hoops Relay. Students had a good feel of what aerobics was all about and danced to the tune of the instructor.

25 On Friday 27 April 2012, the different clubs in our school were formally inaugurated by Principal Geetha Jayachandran. Amidst rapturous applause from students and teachers, three new clubs saw their beginning this year. They are Tamil Literary Club, Calligraphy Club, and Music Club. The secretary of each club addressed the gathering. Promising to stay up to the expectations of the club members and teachers, they presented their plans for the year. Roshini Daniel and Pranathi Kejriwal of class X under the guidance of Mr. Kathirvel took everyone through the function.

26 ENGLISH LITERARY CLUB The members of the club after elaborate deliberations with the teachers, have decided to work to enhance their skill in debating. Besides, they have planned for games on vocabulary, language, and this year the members will get chances to appreciate English in films.

28 MATHS CLUB Wherever we go we come across numbers and calculations. Thats why this year the Math club has planned to incorporate life skills into mathematics. In order to make math fun and interesting students will be taught how to measure the area of the school, the volume of the swimming pool and lots of other structures found around school. Model of school and swimming pool will be done as hands on activity during the period. Children will also be taken on field trips to sites to learn about the quantities of construction materials used. Model of House will be done as hands on activity. At the end of the year, a Quiz on Mental maths will be held by dividing the children in 4 groups.

29 CALLIGRAPHY CLUB As we know our handwriting plays an important role in our life and is a mirror of our true character and self esteem. And so we have introduced the calligraphy club from this year. Calligraphy is a decorative form of writing. Students will be learning Italics and Gothic style of writing which they can incorporate not only in their normal handwriting but also in cards, posters, invitations and certificates etc.

30 SCIENCE CLUB The Super Novas : Schematic Convincing by Interpreting and Experimenting the Novel ideas which are Challenging and Educating. As the name suggests, it is a platform to explore and solve problem scientifically. The club gives an opportunity to take part in practical, hands – on scientific activities and to share their results using media. The forthcoming academic year will be filled with loads of fun. The activities that are to be conducted are science quiz, visiting science exhibitions and museum and experimenting facts.

31 ECO CLUB A healthy and a perfect Eco system make way for a Healthy Earth. Yuva Eco Club will act as a networking platform to work together, to share experiences, to enlighten and stimulate awareness about environmental issues through campus and local community. With a small group of thoughtful committed members. Eco club will take essential effort to learn and live with nature with a few activities like Bicycle Rally, Field visit to a paper manufacturing unit. To plant saplings, village visit, campaign on energy conservation etc.

32 MUSIC CLUB Music is the rhythm of life. Our children in this club will explore different areas in music and also learn about renowned musicians.The club will work towards inspiring future A.R.Rahmans and S.P.Bs.

33 HEALTH AND WELLNESS CLUB School life is filled with many opportunities for health promotion and teaching. By careful planning, various activities can be included to promote health in the school. One of the successful activities is creation of a Health and Wellness Club. Health and Wellness Club focuses on the overall well being comprising emotional, social and mental health of the child. It acts as the enabling and organizational point for conducting activities related to various dimensions of health and wellness. The health club conducts activities which focuses on the different aspects of growth and appropriate development of the child.

34 INTERACTIVE CLUB The Motive of the club is to enhance the children to interact with the society. It enables the children to develop a broad mindedness and help the needy people.Inorder to make the club more effective, the club members have a created tie up with Abhaya-Native Medicare charitable trust. The members of the club will be helping the children of the trust.

35 We are proud to announce that our school was selected as the examination centre for AIEEE exam which was conducted on 29.04.2012 at Yuvabharathi Public school.
