1 Keep Your Eyes Peeled: Chemosis and Proptosis from Relapsed Leukemia
Michael A. Santos, MD, Christopher Ehmann, MD, Witold B. Rybka, MD  The American Journal of Medicine  Volume 129, Issue 7, Pages e69-e70 (July 2016) DOI: /j.amjmed Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Inc. Terms and Conditions

2 Figure (A) Presentation on admission showing significant bilateral chemosis and proptosis limiting her ability to close her eyes. She had significant resistance to retropulsion and elevated intraocular pressures. (B) Clinical presentation on hospital day 8 following high-dose intravenous steroids and local orbital radiation therapy. Her visual acuity and proptosis improved enough to allow her to close her eyes comfortably. (C) T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging with contrast illustrating diffuse intraorbital fat enhancement (blue arrow) and extraocular muscle enhancement (red arrow), highly suggestive of leukemic infiltration.
