3 Fig 2 Example of pathologic tumor larger than 3.0 cm with invasion of 0.5 cm or less. (A) Ground glass nodule detected on thin-slice computed tomography; the largest diameter of this lesion is 5.4 cm and includes a 0.3 cm solid component. (B) Hematoxylin and eosin stain of the same lesion’s surgical specimen. Pathologic tumor size is 4.7 cm and includes 0.4 cm invasive component. 4 Fig 3 Overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) curves for all 18 lung cancer patients with pathologic tumor size larger than 3.0 cm and invasion 0.5 cm or less. The 5-year (yr) overall and cancer-specific survival rates are 94.4% and 100%, respectively. 5 Fig 4 Survival comparison between lepidic adenocarcinoma (LA) larger than 3.0 cm with invasion 0.5 cm or less and minimally invasive adenocarcinoma (MIA) 3.0 cm or less in our database. Five-year (yr) overall survival (OS) rates of lepidic adenocarcinoma larger than 3.0 cm with invasion 0.5 cm or less and minimally invasive adenocarcinoma were 94.4% and 100%, respectively, with no significant statistical difference in overall survival between groups (p = 0.15).
