3 News Package A fully self-contained piece Typically a 1:30 Involves more than 1 lead-in and sound bite The anchors job is to 1) introduce the reporter, the anchor intro, and 2) thank the reporter and wrap up the story, the anchor tag Most news packages include a stand-up

4 The Reporter Stand-Up Stand- Up-The reporter appears on camera in the field and delivers a line or two. A stand-up can appear anywhere in the package (beginning, middle, or end) Bridge stand-ups are those that appear in the middle of the news package, most effective Bridge stand-ups flow with what comes before it and after it
