Ask lots and lots of questions Was there a woman? Who was there? Was there a woman or a milkshake? Who wanted to play golf? Did the woman or the hamburger want to play golf? What did the woman want to do?
How do I get all those questions? CIRCLING
Circling Practice 1. Read questions in order, wait for response 2. Repeat answer 3. Comprehension checks (word, statement, question) 4. Random order 5. Add second sentence with same structure 6. Ask 3-4 questions, add a detail; ask 3-4 questions, add a detail; etc…
Pop-up meaning practice 1. Write on board, point to words! 2. What does ABC mean? (Its on the board) 3. What if I said XYZ, what would that mean? (slight grammatical variation) 4.
