Significant time and money has been invested appointing a CEO. A review will ensure the role is being done as effectively and efficiently as possible, giving the CEO the opportunity to correct any issues real or perceived Many CEOs believe they need to go it alone – a belief that success is an individual matter – objective data on the present teams capabilities can help them understand what needs to be done differently or better It is difficult for the CEO to capture honest information about his performance, and his teams to make informed decisions about his critical relationships A review at six months for new CEOs and the top team Why review?
Provides an early assessment of the CEO and the top team, an honest objective appreciation of the current situation Equips the CEO with a development plan to encourage excellence in all aspects of the role and the team Discovers early evidence to tackle specific issues – real or perceived Produces higher levels of engagement in areas of importance, supports tackling challenges with confidence and secures enhanced team cohesion Demonstrates serious commitment from the CEO and organisation to performance management, learning and development A review at six months for new CEOs and the top team Benefits of 180
Do the CEOs perceptions of their own progress match that of reports and superiors? Is there a risk of potentially having a miss-fit between the executive, the team, the organisation and values – what more could be done to ensure they all align? What mechanism can be put in place to provide robust data that will inform the CEO about the way the team are working? What development could support the CEO and the top team in their pursuit of excellence? A review at six months for new CEOs and the top team Critical Reflections
